is tonight. I hope he has been shot if he proved to be all you thought he was. But I don't suppose he would be in any event. Unfortunately we are too easy in our dealing with Boche spies at home. I shall follow with great interest the story of developments that followed your thrilling adventure. Good old girl, I am very grateful to know that the Nonsense Book is coming. It will be a delightful antidote for dreariness. And I'll look forward to the arrival of the sweater. I'm an awful nuisance. But I'll make up some way for being that. Juliet wants to make me another sweater but I should much rather have one made by my wife if it's all the same to you. You are nice to tell me every now and then that you are lonely for me. I don't want you to be unhappy because of my absence but it wouldn't be any fun to believe that you could be just as happy without me. Please don't get so accustomed to this married life by correspondence that you'll be contented with it. Of course, I have no fear you will. I know you didn't marry me merely to have a soldier to write to. You might have had many without marrying. The time of our honeymoon grows shorter and shorter in comparison to the time that has gone by with our lives going on so utterly apart. But the fascination and glory of that shorter time lose none of their charm for me
