In spite of everything our men fight according to the recognized rules of warfare. I've just heard a story tonight of how an American prisoner was treated in Germany. It is awful. Well, they'll pay eventually. I am very well and working hard. It is lonely being so far from Daphne and you, but your good letters help a great deal to keep me from fretting. I'm very proud indeed to be the husband of such a clever girl and the son of a such a lovable mother. Devotedly, Conger.
