May 13, 1918 My dear Conger This is the 13th and "Flowery May." The ground is white with snow, but is melting, and the snowing is over, and it is rain instead. There is music in the patter, patter and drip of it. A mocking bird is also contributing one of his wonderful songs to the musical program. The fire in the kitchen stove is burning away like winter time. It is quite cool this morning. In fact we have had very few warmer days. Only a couple that I didn't need a wrap when going out -, I doubt if we have had any warmer weather than you have there, very few days but that I have had a little fire
