So I try to kid myself along anyway. But I don't seem to succeed. I'm getting more and more dependent on those crisp little messages from my wife for a weekly renewal of my supply of good humor. If the first two letters had come alone, I should be worrying now about your illness. But I assume from the third that you came back into trim with no loss of weight, beauty, or wisdom. It is a cruel fate for me, however, to learn of your being out of luck so late after the thing happens and to be so far from you. When I read of your lying in bed feeling all miz'ble I want to rush to you and stroke your fur to make you purr. I want
