correspondents came in from driving actually dusty. Today was the warmest day we have had. It was a delight to have doors and windows open and the warm air streaming through. Tonight as I came home I saw the natives hanging about dim-lighted doorways and children playing in the street for the first time so late in the evening. It was as if summer had come - and it was good. How much I wish you were here so that we might go strolling under the trees on the promenade and out the white highway on the side of the valley! That is the sort of thing I dream of nowadays, and live for, and plan for. The place will not matter, so we can be together.
