Wait a minute until I look at one of your letters. It was written just a month ago tonight - from your bed. Bless you, honey, I hope you are not there tonight; not there ill anyway. It is late enough for a good little girl who rises as early as you do to be in bed for sleep. Was that Lillian Blackburn who peeked at me when you had me caged in the parlor? I must have been very forbidding in appearance - that woman surely fled in a hurry. I am glad to be told that your stuff about being afraid of me is "bunk." If you wanted to worry me, you succeeded. You never can tell when a lover will take a jest seriously. Here -
