Two British correspondents had arrived a few minutes before and came as near being thrown into ecstasy as Englishmen can when I conducted them at once to so homelike an institution as tea. One had been in Russia through all the mess and really talked very interesting things - though his language was rather difficult for us to understand. The other sat with his monocle in his eye and said jolly well nothing. I wish you could see him. Before I leave you I want to tell you about last night. I came home thoroughly tired.
