Eighty-seven. May 27, 1918. Light of My Life, - I have stopped in at my room on returning from a walk. Since it is just a little early to call at the ---- for evening reports and not early enough to go to the office before I call there, I propose to spend a few minutes scribbling to you. I started out the road that winds up the steep side of the valley - perhaps an hour and a half ago. Not for a long time had I been that way. My purpose was to get exercise.
