141 14 Aug, 1918. My Dearest,-- When are you going to write to me, child? You know it has been eleven days since any letters came from you, and I have almost forgotten the three-day deluge of them that lasted until then. The only mail I have had from across the Atlantic in that time has been several bundles of newspapers sent by Ernest and mother.
