Oh if we were only sure that six months more would end this dreadful war. that is the greatest wish I have just to know that peace once more reigns in the blood stained world. Thank God that our brave boys are entering into it with such courage and enthusiasm, we read the glowing accounts of their victorys with such pride. There is no use talking the whole world has to take their hats off to the "Yanks". and "Uncle Sam", Thank you so much my dear for the lovely flowers we found here. it was such a surprise and so sweet of you to think of us but just what any one who knew you would expect. While at sister Maudes-sh-dont let her know I said Maud. she wants to be called Joyce and insists that only mules are called Maud, so after this it must be Joyce, as I started to
