154 August 31, 1918. Very Own, - Without attempting to reply until I can get some sleep and perk up a bit I'll tell you that more letters from you have arrived. Two came last night, but as they were smart alecky I declined to notice them until some of your usual brand should come along. Holy God, I hope the mail man won't often delay my letters to you.
