September 3. Dearest Wiffles,- Between sniffles I'll try to write to you. I'm a invalid. My head is stuffy and my nose is doing it's damnedest to put a strain on the world's supply of hand-kerchieves. But happily the tickling sensation in my bronchials has quit. I think I'll live. I owe my suffering to a foolish whim. About a week ago one morning I woke up to a realization that I had plumb forgotten to smoke as per usual the night before.
