Sept. 20th '18. Conger dearest,-- I'm down town at Killian's, and I'm going to drop you a note here because the post man will be done gone before I can get home. This is the second time I've been down town today. Only see what a gad-about is your wife! This morning about eight o'clock Ernest phoned and said he'd take us to the R.I. Freight Depot to see about our stuff from Missouri, so we piled into his Lizzie and drove off. I want you to know this war is playing heck with me more ways than
