Relations Unit Plans Activities Four projects were approved Thursday night by Moline Human Relations Commission at its first full-scale meeting of the year. They include efforts to increase number of Nergos employed in schools and government; seeking verification of reports of discrimination in sale or rental of housing; publishing a brochure prompting understanding and information about the community and commission, and publicizing opportunities for training in technical and professional fields. Commission Chairman the Rev. Peter Erickson, Faith Luthern Church, Moline, reported that one Negro teacher is employed by the Moline school board and that no Negros are employed in any department of the city. Philip Walker, field representative of the Illinois Human Relations Commission, suggested the commission discuss whether to recommend to the city council a fair housing ordinance or to obtain voluntary commitments for open occupancy on parts of Moline realtors. Appointment of officers and committees were ratified. Dr. Harlod Little is vice-chariman ; Hattie Martin, secretary; Dr. Gerald Laros will be chairman of the housing committee; Marion Sletten employment committee; Lamont Hultgren, education committee. Carl Wilson asked to be relived of his duties on the commission.
