PEOPLE IN THE NEWS Don't break a leg, Simon Centerville, Ia., native Simon Estes, center, dislocated his knee before the premiere of [[italics]]Porgy and Bess[[end italics]] at New York's Metropolitan Opera. But Estes, who sang the role of Porgy, went ahead and performed on crutches. He is shown taking curtain calls with Gregg Baker, left, and Grace Bumbry, who sang Bess.
