19 slavery so as Ruffus was laid to rest He got His wishes to die and not owe any man a Cent He asked His son Russell if I Have forgot any bill I owe or if any one Says I owe them with proof promis me you will pay it. Russell promised Him He would but to this day 44 years nothing Has shoed up that Ruffus owed any man Matilda lived 5 years after Ruffus passed she left the farm moved to Keokuk where Her daughter purchasd a Home and they're she remain until she died Sept 10 1932 and is buried in the family plot
