Some used poor equipment which put out a bad product but some distillers used perfect equipment. All of my equipment was made from copper by tinners in Chicag
In 1911 a little 8 year old evangilist boy came to Buxton to preach the Gospel at the Methodist Church. He was there for at least two weeks. He was a Progeny and had been preaching since he was five years old. The first sermon I heard him preach was on: The Valley of dry bones. He sure knew how to connect them bones. He was a a pretty octoroon child with auborn [[insertion]] hair [[/insertion]] and his mother was a brown or black woman and I never was able to figure out the relationship. at this time Halley's Comet was orbiting the earth at a terrific speed and the report was circulated all over town that the tail was going to strike the earth and destroy it. Anyhow a great number of people went to the mourners bench to pray and renounce their sins and accept God. I often wondered if this religeon would dissapear about the same time of Halley(s Comet. Hezikiah Fielding was a boot Legger and he was paralized from his neck down and he had to be helped and carried for about everything. The youngest brother Fee Fee pushed him around in a wheel chair. there were four brother and they al weighed 200 or more. Hez was the name everybody call him. In an argument one day Hez said something that Fee Fee resented so he slapped his paralized brother. Hez now had only his mouth left for defense so he spat in Fee Fee's face. Marshall Fielding was the most high tempered of all, he had a hair like trigger spring attached to his tongue and he being a prize fighter seem to enjoy throwing his weight around. A house was vacant about a mile north of where we lived; so a group of good timers decided they would rent the house and have a party consisting of music; dancing and drinking There was some jealousy displayed between the  men about the women. Marshall Fielding was heard to say, I will get that bitch yet but the witnesses testified in court later that they did not know who he was referring to at that time but later he went out and it was not know whether his wife followed him out or whether she was already out side. She was less than 100 lbs. while he was more than 200 lbs. He claimed the gun went off accidentally and killed her. The Trial was held in Mahaska County at Oskaloosa and lasted several days. He prepared his own defense without a Lawyer and it was sai that he gave one of the best defensive speeches that was ever given in a Court room.All the members and witnesses said it was a brilliant speech but they believed he killed his wife in a fit of anger. 
I would like to throw in a few free phrases which is removed from coal mining and social standing. To get a fair size audience I would suggest that I would like to say a few words about sex: then you would see the people move in closer so as not to miss anything but if you would deceive them and start talkin about something else you would have noticed that they have backed up almost out
