blew "fit to kill" and the newsboys all yelled "War's over!!" Needless to say, I rushed out and sunk my money in an extry, but I couldn't believe what it said. I'm glad now that I didn't, and I absolutely refuse to be moved by anything in the papers until the old boy in Washington says it's the truth. I do hope you cable me soon. Julie and Martha both called soon after noon, and Julie said they were celebrating at school but of course I wet-blanketed the whole thing. I wonder what is wrong with me. Most people are flying around like frightened geese, yapping about peace, peace, peace. I wish my feelings on the subject were not so deep seated and would come to the surface because people must think I'm absolutely devoid of all sensation. I can't run
