I've had a fountain pen in mind for a long time, but I had no way of knowing whether or not you had a new one. How you have kept on with the old one is beyond me, but I had it in mind when I said you might typewrite your letters to me. The folks have already arrived at a decision as to what they'll send you, and if they send what they mentioned yesterday it will be very nice. We all had dinner with Ernest and Martha today, and I did disgrace myself horribly. We all sat around as usual after diner and talked, and as usual I tried to think how it will be when you are with us. I watched Ernest
