letters from Jud Smith lately. Do you remember him? He is Naomi's parasite and had dinner with us at Smith's Café once when we were in Nevada. I never liked Jud and he knows it, and I think he knows why, but these letters would lead one to suppose that we had grown up together and been life-long pals. When the first one came and I saw on the envelope the return "Sergt. Judson Smith," etc, I knew of course why he had written. I didn't even know he'd been a corporal. I didn't pay much attention to the letter until one day Mama said I'd better answer it because of Naomi, so I did. And bless Pat!
