I have to hunt up something interesting for their Social History lesson today. I'm keen about that class, because it gives every child a chance to tell things his own way, and without having to be pumped, either. I have one wild Irish rose who is full of the old nick. He is watching for a chance to cut up, and I sit in fear and trembling that I shall have to break my rule regarding discipline. Before I've never had to use anything more forceful than my eyes. You know the stunt - registering pained surprise, or grief, etc. It has always worked like a charm for me. (Biz of scratching wood!) Tim fell for my eyes once this morning, but it took a full minute before his own fell. Evidently they've not been sparing the rod here, and he was trying out his new teacher. Tonight I have to go down and pay the gas, electric, phone and
