Coblenz, December 10 18 Belovedest, - That terrible fountain pen of mine has disappeared. I haven't seen it since at Treves. My only hope about it is that whoever took it will not try to find the owner. I never want to see it again. For a half hour I have been sitting at my writing table seeing memories in the smoke of my cigar. And my dreams have gone back to a year ago tonight.
