By staying at school until rather late, y'see, I can show Jessie just what an overworked person I be. Get me line, buddy? Another intermission. I've been down in the auditorium practicing Christmas songs with some boys. After that was over I gave several little private lectures to several little friends and sent them home wailing. I have two 16 yr. olds who are near-men, and they give me a pain. One of them has reached the leering age, and suddenly today I looked up to find him leering at me - little silly fool that he is. I promptly had sweet speech with him before the room full of kids, until he hung his gentle headlet. Then up spake one young hopeful, "Miss Reynolds, Orville said today goin' home that you wuz the sweetest teacher in school and had such pretty hands." That almost floored me, but I recovered by remarking that I'd never beheld dirtier hands than Orville's and sent him forth to wash. Oh these brats!
