me remember how green I still am at the Bride Business, and they spent the best part of an hour planning the wedding we are to have when you come home. I told them we'd be glad to accomodate them on condition that they do the thing up right and give us a wedding dinner and a keen cake. To which they immediately agreed. Then the "proper family" you told me about began discussing the telegram you sent them with a most refreshing intimacy and child like frankness that was a real joy. When the time was ripe Mama sprung the wire I sent you saying "Prepare for the worst"--and then Fred sweetly inquired whether there might be any connection between the two messages. That was the rawest one he's produced yet. I'm not telling you this to be smutty but because I want you to be prepared for what you'll get, and rehearse your lines so you
