again Saturday night and we are all invited there for dinner. Sunday. Mother and Father are giving a party on New Year's day and they've not fully decided whether to have it here or at Dooley's. They are in love with this house, and Father does enjoy the cat and the easy chairs and the grate. Oh I love to have them here. Mother wandered around over the house selecting the things she is going to steal before going back to Dexter. She's a terrible crook, that woman. I have to watch her all the time to keep her from pawning my white coral. She found that they are worth about sixty dollars, and since that discovery she has tried her best to crook 'em. Oh I must tell you what we got for Christmas. The Wild Ass of the Desert sent me some pretty "hankies," and her maw and paw sent us a lovely chocolate set. Emil and I used to drink so much chocolate last summer and he heard me admire their chocolate pot so of course he decided to get us one. Mathilde sent us a cut glass
