[handwritten] " 18 Protestors Arrested; Two Held Under $500 Bond" cont. P.c 12/6/67 Released on $100 bond was Mrs. Karen Harvey, who was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. She was arrested by sheriff's officers in front of the Civic Center, where a group of demonstrators were protesting. Mrs. Harvey was bailed out of Johnson County Jail late Tuesday with money allocated by the UI Student Senate which voted to take $1,500 from senate funds to use as bail money. At noon today, three protestors were still in jail. They were Peterson, Kleinberger and Christine Bailey of 342 Currier Hall. Miss Bailey was charged with disorderly conduct. A second person arrested at the Civic Center was Albert G. Marion of Route 1, who was directing the actions of the protestors through a small bull horn, officers charge He was charged with inciting a disturbance. His bond was set at $100. Charged with disorderly conduct and released on $100 bond were: Roy Harvey of Route 2, David Salner of 115 1/2 South Clinton Street, David Drum of 123 Quisnet Park, Fred McTaggert of 2803 Lakeside Apartments, Barbara Schmulewitz of 412 South Madison Street. David Wesley Grant of 20 West Court Street, Jerrold Sies of 635 South Governer, Ware R. Smith of 636 South Johsnon Street, Dale McCormick of S214 Currier Hall, James Mall of 118 Riverside Park, John Barry Gholson of 424 East Jefferson Street, Judith Starbuck of West Branch and Lory Rice of 628 East Market Street. Eight of the protestors arrested Tuesday also were arrested in the Nov 1 demonstration. They are, in addition to Kleinberger and Peterson, Mrs. Starbuck, Rice, Grant, Miss Schmulewitz, Salner and Harvey.
