[1970] REFERENCE VERTICAL FILE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR UNIVERSITY OF IOWA OPTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE SEMESTER The University will remain open and classes and examinations will be held as scheduled. however, those students who may feel compelled to leave the campus early may do so and still receive credit in courses where passing work has been done through May 3. The options are as follows: 1. Take grades as earned on all work completed through May 3. A major assignment due by May 3 but not completed could result in an Incomplete for a course. Incompletes would be made up in the usual manner and time period. 2. Take a P (Pass) or a W(Withdrawal) for all courses, based on work completed through May 3. This would mean a P for coures in which the work is A. B. C. or D quality and a W for courses in which the work is not passing quality. As in No. 1 above, an Incomplete may be assigned by the instructor if a major assignment due by May 3 has not been submitted. The I would be removed in the normal manner but may become only a P or a W. 3. Take Incompletes in all courses. Students electing this option would need to make up all work and examinations normally required through the end of the semester (not through May 3 only). The usual method and time limits for removing the Incompletes would apply, except that prior permission of the instructor is not needed. Students electing to remain in school and to complete the semester need take no action. Students desiring to terminate now on one of the options listed above should circle the number of the option, sign and list information requested below. The completed form may be submitted at the place of issue (Dormitory or Student Union) not later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 12. Grades will be determined and assigned by the instructors at the end of the semester. Grade reports for the current semester will be mailed to each student's permanent home address in mid-June. Signed Student Number Local Address TO THE FACULTY: The class lists on which you report final grades at the end of the semester will identify each student who withdraws at this time and will indicate which of the three options he has elected. Questions should be directed to the office of your academic dean.
