live on memories and dreams. In some ways it has been a nightmare. I never want to be away from you again. At times I've sworn half in earnest that next time I'd "slack" and stay with my wife. Of course I wouldn't; if Uncle Same really needs me I'll go again. But, thank God, it isn't likely that the need will arise again. And no other kind of appeal will ever draw me away. To go home now I'm passing up a lot of things - I'll tell you about them some time - but they are simply nothing when conditioned on my doing without you a minute longer than necessary. You can't come to me; so I go to you - that is all there is to it. You have given a great deal for me, sweetheart.
