(In Old L.A. - cont.) Freehafer dragged out his mimeograph and immediately runs off a four-page eye-witness description of the occurance, complete with diagrams. Freehafer was so inspired that he did not first prepare a dummy. Bradbury returns, accompanied by an unknown author-friend, and the two of them commence at once to prepare a dramatized script of the event .... while awaiting the arrival of: Walt Daughtry who dashes in with is portable electric recorder and a large supply of records. The Ackerman, Bradbury and the unknown - friend re-enact the entire drama, complete to the scrapiing of the pebble. Bradbury's unknown friend was cast as the pebble. Daugherty then makes twenty five records and mails them to twenty five famous fans about the country. Ackerman then shooes everyone out of the room, and after locking the door, carefully notes the entire story in his diary. He retires, to dream of his meeting with the old man in he fog, and the WORD. FAN MAG DIGEST DEPT ~ We got a mess of them! Most important newcomer of the month, we believe, is Lou Goldstone's Fantasia. nicely mimeographed, it also contains linoleum blocks, printed in various colors, illustrating the contents. (269 16th Ave, San Francisco.)*** And we also have: Fantaseer Numbers 5 and 6, from Bill Groveman. #6 is back to hecto. IFA Review no. ? (Nov. 1940) from Ted Dikty. JAN 1941 ISSUE JUST IN! Nepenthe ... another first-issue. TeX Singleton, MIT Grad House, Boston. Bizarre #1 ... boy, how we had to fight to get this copy! Yahhhhhh! The Fantasite #1. Formerly Scienti-Comics, from Phil Bronson. Melbourne Bulletin #1. Australian bull-sheet by a chap named Wog. Austra-Fantasy #2, by Hockley. (We suspect he is the above 'Wog'.) Fanfare #5 ... 1st Anniversary Issue....from the Stranger Club. Midwest News & Views Vol.2, #2. Korshak comes to life again. Shangri-La #2 .... so does Daughtery, he does this twice each year. Science Fiction Fan #52. Wiggins awakens oftener, but not often enough. Polaris Vol.2, #1. Forced hibernation delayed Freehafer on this one. Sun Spots #15. Also an Anniversary Issue, from those Westwood,NJ chaps. Spaceways Vol.3, #2. Harry Warner bobs in, Jack Miske bobs out. Centaur #1. Another first-one, and not at all bad. Farley stinks tho.
