Page Eight -- S - F Collector -- the world's gasoline supply is dwindling away, and so is the coal, and from these we get our gasoline and coke. Herr Hitler is faced with a gasoline shortage, and so his scientists have successfully made alcohol motors run on less fuel than a gasoline engine of the same size. Engines have also been run on liquid Hydrogen and Oxygen, but it will never be possible to make these gasses in liquid form practicable enough to put on the market. However, here is something that offers a solution, but which the big oil concerns won't let you hear about. A midwestern American inventor has almost perfected a method by which ordinary gasoline engines may be run on water! You may bet that someone is scared. With a little money this system might be worked up to a large scale, but it would certainly cause a big financial upheaval. The thing works thus: In an ordinary motor the carburetoris removed and a device which electrically separates the hydrogen and oxygen by the electrolysis method, from the water into gase, which goes into the motor just like gasoline, with plenty of oomph! The resultant economic change, however, of this invention would be so far reaching that it has been "censored" until the oil fields run dry. And there, my friends, is the power supply of the world when our oil runs out! These are a few little illuminated shadows of the world of tomorrow, if there be a tomorrow. I'll have to read the morning paper first ---finisi---- (There is an instrument, publicly announced, since this article was written, in the field of aviation, which tells the height above [[underline]]land[[end underline]] or [[underline]]buildings[[end underline]] instead of sea level, of the plane. This will prove a boon to those pilots flying across treacherous mountain ranges, and will no doubt save many lives....O. Train)
