FAN.................................................................................7 The success of scientific doodads and gadgets in destroying civilization during this war has no bearing whatsoever on the detrimental or con-structive value of scientific achievement to culture, despite some rumblings to the contrary by both those within and without the Profession. In the Utopia to follow we must find some way to hog tie the so called born "financial wizards" who parasitically exist on the inven-tive genius of scientific minds. Come forth you Michelists and rearrange a new social order which will keep these financial parasites from swarming down on us scientific dreamers every so often, but let us Vernians alone or you won't even have a paddle for your futurian canoe. Civilization without Fantasy and Art would devour itself within a century, for human beings as a whole, are jut plain dumb animals, the degree of their dumbness depending upon how far fate has tossed them from their individual ruts. "It's the fires from within" that either drive the human race to the four corners of the world ever seeking knowledge and progress or allow them to die in some secluded spot; where their carcasses rot with stagnation. Wake up fans, take your pencils in hand and let us know "How to Live in the Future and what you think this world should be about anyway".
