issue. Thanks to Mr. O'Connor we were able to adapt the cover which had been printed for Stanley Mullen's "Sphinx Child". The adaption wasn't too good, but we hope you will bear with us on that. If there are any of you who wish to have the covers of your issues uniform, then let us know and we'll try to furnish you with the new cover for your set. We are hoping to hear from you regarding your reaction to the first issue, and wish you all to give us your suggestions and criticisms to guide us in future numbers. Let us know what you think of the "Cauldron" of the illustrations, of the stories and articles. Remember, this is YOUR fanzine. We have marvelous plans brewing for a magnificent issue which we think will surpass anything ever done before in the way of fan mag publishing. We advise that you subscribe early to insure receiving this fine collector's item. Due to the work and cost involved in the issue, we are going to limit the edition to take care of subscribers only. The volume of this edition will depend entirely upon the amount of subscriptions that we have on hand by May 1st. We are printing a certain amount of extra copies per number, to accomodate the demand which we feel there will be for PAN DEMOS from those who hadn't subscribed before the distribution of each issue. But, as noted above, there will be no extra copies of our special issue. We invite your special attention to the article, "Some Notes On the Background of the Fox Woman." We feel that this article will be of particular interest to devotees of Mr. Merritt and Mr. Bok as well as to bibliophiles who take great pains to know all there is to know about books of fantasy. We think this article will be a fine contribution to collectors in general. 5
