Charles D. Brown plays the role of a ghost. •fff- Atlantic Pictures,, through the Pickford Corp. re-Issued "The Bat Whispers" with Chester Morris and Una Merkel. -fff- Paramount will make a series of Fu Manchu pictures starring Akim Tamaroff. -fff- Tom and Jerry, cartoon characters who have dabbled in stf;, are due to return -fff- Glenn Morris, Olympic champ, will play Tarzan on a new series produced by Sol Nesser for 20th Century-Fox. -fff- "Islands in the Sky" is the interesting title of a new picture being prepared for production. -fff- Gaument-British plans include "None-Stop New York." -fff- Countless films of the "old days" [?] are being remade... some in technicolor. Maybe the cinema moguls will return some of the scientifilms of long ago --- we hope! -fff- Claude Rains is the only man who has ever "Appeared" in a film without being seen in it. I refer, of course, to "The Invisible Man." -fff- "War Lord" is said to be the title of the next Karloff creepyarn. finis Every science fiction reader is more or less familiar with the various theoretical processes authors use to extract atomic energy, or material energy, from matter. High voltages, high current densities, bombardment with various particles, radioactivity, cosmic rays, all are used by authors to produce power source of the furture [sic]. The amounts of energy to be gotten by the disintegration of matter differ in various author's viewpoints, and range from the story in which a scientist disintegrated on atom of each of several elements, thus stopping the motion of the earth in its orbit, to the authors who provide tons of matter to drive their space ships.
