S P A R X VOLUME 1 NUMBER 5 CONTENTS The Pros [underlined] Are [/underlined] The Convention Paul Carter 3 Takeoff: Tim Orrok 5 When They Bring Out A-ma-zing Alpaugh & Kennedy 7 The Little Flower Vincent Williams 10 Venus Equilateral, a book review The Editor 7 Our Cover 4 Editorial Numblings 1, 2, &12 ________________ THAT'S ALL AS WE GO TO PRESS - THAT'S ALL AS WE GO TO PRESS - THA __________________ THE WORD This is SPARX, Volume One, Number Five. It was stenciled, run off, edited, mailed, and mostly financed by Henry M. Spelman III, Leverett House E-21, Cambridge 38, Mass. Subscription rate: Five cents per issue. I will also consider a trade with any other fanzine published, on an all for all basis, subject to termination on notice, if either falls too far behind. In other words, I do not want to trade with once every year mags. The only other way to get SPARX is to send me material for SPARX. I can use fiction, non-fiction, not too obscure poetry, book reviews, or art work, by special arrangement. I particularly need litho-able covers, with the name of the mag on the cover. Contributors will receive two free issues for each contribution of one page, or over. [underlined] Prints of the Philcon Photos [/underlined] are available at 15¢ each. 2 1/4x4". I have 17 different shots. Complete set for $2.25. Postpaid. Head sizes same as on cover. Prices on enlargements by arrangement. Come on, order plenty. Got to pay for all those bulbs I burned up.
