SPARX WHEN THEY BRING OUT A-MA-ZING MUSIC WORDS Cole Porter by Lloyd Alpaugh and Joe Kennedy To be sung to the tune of "Begin the Beguine." When they bring out A-ma-zing We shout to the skies, the praises of Shaver; We wish that he were a moldy ca-da-ver When they bring out A-ma-zing. I read it once more back of the shed, Although I don't know what Shaver is saying; I wonder what game Palmer is playing, When they bring out A-ma-zing. To read it again is my life's ambition, Except when I lack two bits in my jeans; And there I am wishing I had a quarter, I know that I oughter Buy A-ma-zing. Ziff-Davis diving, the best mags I have seen, In Dick Shaver's tales through the dero caverns I've wandered; But then I hear myself curse the money I've squandered For copies of rap's magazine. No don't let them bring out A-ma-zing, make them stop-- Lest the money with which I must eat go for those pulp rags; Macaroni and cheese I can eat but not Fal-mar's mags-- I'm beginning to hear strange voices that sing When they bring out A-ma-zing. NO COMMENT NO COMMENT NO COMMENT NO COMMENT NO COMMENT NO COMMENT VENUS EQUILATERAL Venus Equilateral, by George O. Smith. Prime Press, Philadelphia, 1947. 20 cm $3.00 There is certainly little need to say anything about the plot of this series of short stories.
