Pvt. Kendal W. Rice U. S. Army Radio School SHAAH Sioux Falls S.D. Sunday July 30, 1944 Mr. & Mrs. Hall, I suppose the time has come for me to leave these wonderful mid-western states of yours. I'm leaving at noon tomorrow, and strange as it may seem, I'm actually sorry. Of course I'm glad to have completed this phase of my training, but I have had some wonderful times since I have been here, and the two week-ends that I spent in your home stands head and shoulders above the rest. We don't often have the opportunity to visit a private home and I can't express my gratitude for the wonderful times which you showed me. I wrote home about
