Nov 13, 1943 Dear Boss and family: Thank you a million times for the Christmas package. Certainly was kind of all of you folks to remember me. Also I want to thank you again for the G.G and smaller edition of staff news. Nice to be kept informed about the old gang. Let's see, it has been about 2½ years. Probably should take out citizenship papers soon. Still flying in my capacity as a liaison pilot. I am well and no complaints. Food is better also. We pilots get 3 eggs and 3 oranges a week issued also all of us have got pancakes and ice cream about twice a week. At nights, pop corn in our barracks. Such is life in England. Recently visited Bath, Torquay and Maidenhead. Nice towns but no place like home. So keep up the good work on the home front. We all feel that this war is in the home stretch. But (enuf?) of that Cheerio - Shusty P.S. The "15" game had us E.T.O. happy S/Sgt L. L. Austin 153 Ln Sq APO 638 %PM New York, N.Y.
