The University of Omaha Omaha, Nebraska Office of the Finance Secretary January 13,1944 Mr. Earl Hall Mason City Globe Gazette Mason City, Iowa Dear Earl: Just a note to repeat what I told you several times before you left - - that I personally sincerely appreciate the trouble you took to come to Omaha for the meeting last Tuesday. I have had many excellent comments on them, and have already been contacted by two different organizations who want you to come back and speak for them. I told them both that they were at liberty to write to you very soon. One of them was a big meeting of the Altruss Club, a business women's organization, and the other the annual meeting of the Junior Chamber of Commerce at which time they plan to make the Distinguished Service Award to the outstanding young man of the community under 36 years of age. This would be out of the question, I am sure, but I did want you to know that you are certainly made a good impression. After I got home Tuesday night I discovered that the home edition of the Herald had carried the story along with the picture that they took over at the hotel. Last night, which was 24 hours later, I found that the home edition carried still another story.
