The work here continues to be very interesting though it grows tougher as time goes on. I've managed to keep my grades pretty high averaging between 95 and 100 in every course but one and it is above 90. If I can continue that I should receive a rating upon graduation. Frances and Carol are fine. Frances was here for a weekend a few weeks ago and I expect her again in another 2 weeks. In addition I'm going to try to get home next month. We are trying to take the maximum advantage of my present proximity for there's no telling when I'll see them again after leaving Chicago. I was certainly sorry to hear about Ray Clough's misfortune, and also Harp Joselyn's being wounded. Hope the former parachuted to safety and the latter's injuries aren't serious. I'm afraid there will be a whole lot more of that before this thing is over. Earl - thanks again for sending me the Globe. Hope we can spend an evening together while I'm still here. Kindest regards to Ruth and the family Jack P.S. I attended a beautiful church service this morning at the University chapel. Heard a splendid sermon by the great negro educator, President Hill of Pennsylvania State Teachers College. J.
