France 30 April 1945 Mr. W. Earl Hall Managing Editor Mason City Globe-Gazette Dear Sir- In an overseas package, which my parents sent me, a copy of the March 12, 1945 "Globe" was included and it was with much interest that I read your article, "A Report From our Boys Over There." It is assuring to know that someone can give the people at home a report on what we are thinking about these days - to counterbalance the many articles, I have recently read, describing the returning veteran as bitter, hateful, maladjusted and resentful. I wonder if those writers and speakers are qualified to give such a report to lonely wives and parents? If anything is causing a breech between the soldier and civilian it is these people who describe themselves as psychologists and whom, I believe do not "know" the soldier.
