17 Feb 1945 Dear Earl, Just received your letter of Jan 19th. I looked up immediately to see if John Holkas was in the 91st but no such luck. We have not had any one by that name as far as our records go. I suppose by now his Dad has probably heard from him. I trust his injury was slight. I also received the Gazette with the story of Tom Ducan and I enjoyed it very much. Congratulations - you did a swell job on it. A couple of days past, I received a letter from Mary with "one Mans Opinion". People you won't forget, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I was out to the Duchesses last Sat night for dinner and a swell evening. I wish I had had the article then. She has asked about you a number of times. You made a very fine imprint. Ristine left for home 3 days ago his wife has been ill. I will miss him and the hospital will; because he really did a remarkable job here and is very able. I suppose you may see him back there. It was certainly nice of your lady folks and you to remark about
