13 Nov 1944 My Dear Earl I may seem slow I ans. your swell letter, but I want you to know that Little Harrison has been the busy little boy, of this, or any theater. Let me tell you some of the thing I have been doing. I did most of the work on the Army Navy Football game (inclosed find clipping of story of game thought very funny) last Sunday, Sat. night a Coaches dinner, and had some very notable people there, including Maj Eddie Anderson Lt. Col Frank J. Mc Cormick Director of Ath. at the U of Min. Lt. Col. Harlen Miller Col. Harry W. Clark formely Director of Ath. at Harvard now Head of the Ath. branch Of Special Serv. U S Army, some 70 men turned up for the dinner and it was enjoyed by all. I am sure that it got most of them in the mood for the game the next day. Eddie of course held told them several good football stories as no one else can, the rest of the Speeches were more or less about the Army Ath. Program, now and in the future, will tell you more about that in the near future. I was a tired little man by the time the game was over, and so I slept for 16 hr. and by now am back to normal again, or as normal as one could hope to be, in this country, need I say more. Earl I want you to know that it was indeed a pleasure for me to do what little I did for you, and that I am only sorry I couldn't do more for you, it was so much fun being with you and talking to you it did something for me, that I just can not explain to you. I am so glad that you could give mother first hand information of her son. I expect she enjoyed that very much. Yes, Earl we still have a lot to talk about some day when we are together again, and God please don't make it to long. I am sorry to learn of the death of two such swell people. Jim Rae was a swell man, and I know that Pvt Lloyd Jones was well thought of, on the brighter side I am very happy for both Bud Guter and Joe Rogers, and I want to wish them continued success, in everthing. I was most happy to be able to in a small way of course, intertain are mutual friend Nate Suter who called in one bad Sat & Sunday, but I want to make it clear Earl, just between you and I the kid has, in no uncertain terms straightned up and realy is a man. I hope for his sake that you will pass it along to the right people, I am very proud of him, and I know that you will be also. Earl I had a letter yesterday from (illegible), he is a capt. over here in a Air Force outfit, and hope's to come into London to see me in the very near future, will keep you posted on that. I have been up to see all of our good friends at the 91st Hospital and they have all asked about you, you made some kind of a hit with them, now I can not see how, with me along, but mabe it is that very nice head of gray I cant say graying, any way we sure did have fun. I can't think of anything more of interest, I am sending you a copie of the Extra I got out for the election if you didn't know it we beat all the British papers and that was the tlak of the town, it did me a lot of good, However I was not to pleased about some of it. If you know what I mean. Earl keep me posted to the local stuff and I will keep you up on this over here, until later then with the best regards to you and your family. I remain the little boy who left M.C. but will never forget it, nor any of my friends in it. Harrison
