Frank McDonald has been recently negotiating a barter arrangement with Les Meredith (now of N.R.L.). General idea is that we might furnish custom built things (like tail fin assemblies, etc.) in exchange for purchasable items. In letter of 16 March Les proposes following. State University of Iowa to N.R.L. : 5 sets of tail fins 6 Telemetering transmitters N.R.L. to State University of Iowa : 20 Silver Cells 12 6199 PM tubes 300 5678 + small teflon insulated wire ____________________ "Electricity & Magnetism -- Theory & Applications" N. E. Gilbert 3rd Edition(1950) Macmillan & Co. New York Rather good on applications ! Telephones, watt-hour meters, etc.
