14 October 1959 S. U. .I. received first pass successfully at ~1825 C.S.T. (13th) (0025 U.T. of 14 October) - 6th pass. for about a 5 minute period. Channels 2, 3 and 4 very clean. Channel 5 noisy but workable. The 112 G.M. tube scale of 128 had a counting rate of ~ 10/second or 10/7=((1.4 (cm exponent 2)) second) = (J sub [v? 6?]) Low altitude. -- Sixth pass as received here was southbound and rising in altitude -- was over southwestern U.S. - Altitude ~700 km. - 800 km.
