Page Six --- S - F Collector --- _____________________________________ "We have several established authors, but in trying to keep pace with presentday standards in USA, most of them seem to have lost the more simple touch that is required over hers today. "In selecting re-prints, I am trying to obtain stories which have not been hitherto available to most Americans, as well as British fans. I am happy to have secured the assistance of such gifted authors as Dr. David H. Keller, Edmond Hamilton, Lloyd Arthur Eshbach and others who have made great contributions to science fiction several years past and I am only too anxious to enlist the support of as many other US authors as are interested." Well, I think Wally Gillings is being very fair -- and TOW certainly is creating a big new field of readers here, this from personal experience. I stillthink he will come out tops. Just now, with the added menace of FANTASY in the air and all the authors here trying to crash that mag, he is getting rather a raw deal, but four issues are now to his credit, and he'll keep going. Much could be done to better the mag, full and half-page illustrations would be more effective --- give him a break, and they'll come, too. 0--- [s shape] ---0 ooo--ooo--ooo--ooo OO-OO The second issue of SCIENCE ADVENTURE STORIES out soon! 64 pages of good fan fiction. Only 15 [cents sign] a copy, four issues for 60 [cents sign]. Soon to go bi-monthly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTICE: The following readers' subscriptions expire with this issue: T.B. Yorke, T. Whiteside, Oliver Saari, W. Sykora and R.A.Leadabrand.
