At a recent meeting of the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society it was unanimously agreed that the aforementioned organization would sponsor some sort of a fan gathering late in October. Therefore, the PSFS will sponsor the 1938 Philadelphia Science Fiction Conference, probably to be heldSunday, October 16th, or thereabouts. It was not be designated as a convention, but will merely be a large fan meeting. All active fans residing within a reasonable distance will be invited to attend, and information definitely informing those interested is now being prepared. One of the primary purposes of the meeting will be to request and receive a report from the present World Science Fiction Convention Committee, so it is desired that all committee members be present. Among those already invited are John W. Campbell and Mortimer Weisinger, and extra effort will be made to secure the attendance of several other science fiction celebrities. Watch this column for further information. Another event of interest pertaining to the PSFS will be the publication of the First Anniversary issue of the PSFS News. This issue, which will appear early in November, will [[illegible]] of at least 24 pages, with full page biographies of all active PSFS members. A photo of each member will appear opposite the biography.
