I differentiate fans from reader-collectors by applying the term "scientifictionists" to the latter, which also includes fans; but aside from that, I have no words to distinguish the other groupings. Can't stand with him against Ackermanese, however.....Dale's "Jottings" good....Long Distance also good after you plo(ugh) (British Spelling) (w)ad through the first part, which should have been presented separately. Comments On a Convention and Fan Mag Review both good, but I'm getting sick and tired of these bewhiskered gents chasing around in the pages of my fan mags. I want to know who's writing what I read; some of it certainly sounds out of character for a Philly....Madle's swings at Wollheim well taken.....Hon't your fan mag reviewer hold? Fantasia has been abandoned and money returned, Georgia is buying a press and may yet publish it; if so, I shall try to get it in the FAPA mailing.....Wilson's article not so good; evidence that Sam referred to him and Gillespie very flimsy. JOHN LESLIE CHAPMAN: -- Hktoing good, as usual. Eternal Wanderer is still the best column. Written in an interesting style. The England stuff was better than usual this time. The convention business is getting a bit tiresome. It's the same old line: Notables Wollheim,
