Next meeting place: Fort Dodge 3:00 p.m. After meeting with Governor It seemed to be the consensus that the Governor was very receptive to some of our ideas and concerns especially with the establishment of a Black Citizens Advisory Council. His office will begin to work on it. Concern was expressed about reappointment of Virginia Harper to the State Parole Board. The issue of statistical data used in reflecting the Black work force in Iowa was discussed and the Governor agreed in principle that maybe the state government should look at it in the context of S.M.S.A.S., which more realistically reflects the Black population concentrations. It was noted that most of state government jobs in location in these areas, plus 75% to 80% of state jobs are in Des Moines.
