Madison Prison Ft. Madison, Iowa Dear Mr. Brewer: We have recently learned that you have been transferred from the position as warden of the Iowa State Prison in Fort Madison and that you have been assigned another position in the Penal system. I am writing to let you know that we of the NAACP have over the years received from you courteous reception and those who have worked with you including Mrs. Virginia Harper have expressed their high regard for your effectiveness as a warden at Ft. Madison. I, therefore personally, and in behalf of the NAACP, wish to express our appreciation for your efforts and the courtesies that have been extended in our efforts to assist and rehabilitate prisoners at the Iowa State Peniteniary in Fort Madison.
