There are 9 categories of job groups that we are required to report on in our Affirmative Action Plan: 001-Officials and Managers, 002-Professionals, 003-Technicians, 004-Office and Clerical, 006-Craft Workers - Skilled, 007-Operators-Semi-Skilled, 008-Laborers and 009-Service Workers. The only area in our 1996 AAP that was noted as underutilized (opportunity for improvement) was in 006-Craft Workers for Females. Underutilization is determined using the two standard deviation rule. In this area, craft workers for females are a -3.05 std dev. This area fell below our goal with the recent voluntary separation packages given in 1995. Our plans are to be well within our goal with the addition of 20-20 new hires expected in 1996. If you have any more questions, please contact me at (319) 463-6353.
